The journalists helped rebuild two rooms of the Sri National Secondary School located at Syamarang of Lothar VDC – 7 which had collapsed during the April 25 earthquake.
Chitwan's Chief District Officer (CDO), Binod Prakash Singh, inaugurated the school on Sunday. The journalists' team spent Rs 1.8 million in six months to reconstruct the school building at the village situated in Lothar VDC, east of the district headquarters.
The journalist collected the money needed for reconstruction from donations of Nepali nationals living abroad and foreign donor agencies, said Campaign's Chairman Binod Rijal.
CDO Singh and District Education Officer, Govinda Prasad Aryal, praised the journalists for carrying out an exemplary work.
The Chitwan Assistance Trust (CAT), Belgium donated the highest amount for the reconstruction. Prabha Neupane and Renu Kanta Neupane donated Rs 750,000 together through CAT
